Oak parquet Scandia represents a rustic style. The rustic look is created by different shades of oak, grain patterns and the low number of knots. The parquet’s hazy tone has been created with a silty matt white lacquer.
The parquets in the Vintage Collection display the knot features characteristic to natural materials as well as a deep variation of grain structure and colour. The surface of these industrially manufactured products is intentionally uneven, and their surface layer contains open knots and cracks. It is recommended to install the parquet flooring in such a way that the surface of the parquet has a uniform overall appearance. It is recommended to install any boards that differ in their pattern or hue separately to each other.
Parquet is real natural wood at its most beautiful and unique. As a material of interior design, wood is an environmentally friendly and ecologically durable option, providing character, warmth, and comfort for every room in your home. A real wood floor will give any interior designer a timeless aesthetic, as well as a long-term partnership in the most important place of your life – your home. Trends change, but the charm and value of genuine wood as flooring material remain unchanged.
The Parla parquet is unique on the market, due to its durability and dimensional stability. Parla parquet floorboards consist of three overlapping layers, each made from real wood, strengthening each other. The unique structure has been designed for durability, and especially so that the wood will expand as little as possible. The dimensional stability of the floorboards is also influenced by the moisture characteristics of the timber, which have been adjusted to optimal levels during the manufacturing process. Locking tongues and grooves are situated on four sides of the floorboards, making installation easier and quicker. The floorboards will be installed as a floating floor, the boards will become interlocked thanks to the tongue and groove system. In order to guarantee exceptional abrasion resistance, the surface of the parquet floorboards has been treated with a safe and innovative wax oil or lacquer.

Care of the lacquered parquet
Remove sand and dust from the parquet with a vacuum cleaner or brush. If necessary, wipe the floor with a well-wrung cloth or mop. Use lukewarm water, to which can be added a detergent intended for floor cleaning, and follow the directions for use of the detergent intended for cleaning of the parquet floor. The use of strong detergents is to be avoided. Wax or polishes containing wax must not be used.
Care of the wax oiled parquet and wooden floors
Regular vacuum-cleaning and mopping prevents dirt from sticking to the parquet surface. When required, it is possible to order a comprehensive maintenance set for wax oiled floors from Timberwise. The set contains the following: OSMO Color Wash and Care, cleaning and conditioning wax spray and tinted or clear wax oil for correcting small scratch marks.
- Avoid using strong detergents, since they can dissolve the protecting wax oil or lacquer layer on the parquet.
- Avoid using excess amounts of detergent, since otherwise a detergent layer will accumulate on the surface of the parquet and collect dirt.
- Remove stains immediately.
If the surface of the wood floor has been damaged, for example, when moving furniture, you can apply OSMO Color wax oil on damaged areas. Detailed instructions >> for correcting scratch marks and larger damages.

Three layer structure
All of the components of 14 mm thick Parla parquet board are real wood. Parquet board is composed of three mutually supporting layers. The construction is developed durable and particularly in a way to counteract warping. The dimensional stability of Parla parquet board is improved also by contolling the moisture characteristics optimally in the manufacturing process.
The hardwood surface of Parla-parquet mainly highlights the natural beauty of wood and its outstanding and individualistic design. The surface layer determines in many respect durability and life span of the parquet floor. The middle and bottom layers are made from selected Nordic softwood. In the north wood grows slowly and sturdily which makes wood good quality and strong. The grain in the middle layer of the parquet board is vertical improving the parquet´s durability and preventing shape changes. Bottom layer of spruce veneer gives support to the entire structure. Skilfully made parquet does not warp or bend.

A surface treatment brings out the unique beauty of the wood. The surface treatment highlights the natural beauty of timber, and is bound to the surface of the floorboards. The surface treatment makes the floor durable, and easy to clean.
When choosing the surface treatment agent, we have also considered its safety and environmental impact, in addition to the traditional dirt- and moisture-resistance, and abrasion resistance. This surface treatment agent meets strict European norms, as well as the Finnish M1 norms (highest category) of the emission classification for building materials.
